Changes to my study programme

 Hi friends!!

It is difficult to think about what could be changed in the Social Work curriculum, because since it is a career that was reopened in 2015, it is not yet possible to know how the graduated professionals perform. In addition, it is a career that was reopened with new educational proposals, with a different vision from the oldest institutions that teach social work.

I am in my second year and so far I think that the study plan is quite good, I really like the fact that they start us with the basic subjects of social sciences.

Also, I enjoy sharing subjects with students from other careers, so we can complement each other's perspectives.

I think that the co-curricular subjects are very interesting and help us to develop in other areas, but I would like to have more quotas.

He considered that the length of the course is fine for the amount of content we have to learn. There are even subjects that are not enough to pass all the content, because they are very dense. The readings sometimes feel infinite haha because of the complexity or the number of pages we are told to read.

I have studied these two years in remote mode, so I do not know the on-site university. I cannot comment on the resources we have to develop as students. In my case, I am grateful to have the possibility of having my own computer and an iPad, which has made it easier for me to connect to classes and meet with classmates for assignments. I hope everyone is doing well, and I look forward to the end of the semester! Goodbye I hope everyone is doing well, and I look forward to the end of the semester! Goodbye

The ways of teaching are different in each teacher, but I want to emphasize that each one of them masters the topics and presents them in different ways so that we can understand. They are understanding and flexible people, especially in these pandemic years.

I hope everyone is doing well, and I look forward to the end of the semester!

Postgraduate Studies

Hi, hi..!!

I love to study and learn new things, and it is in my mind to take courses after I graduate from Social Work.

I have so many in my head that I don't know which one I would choose to do first. There are courses that have to do with the career I am studying, and there are others that are not so directly related.

I would like to take sign language courses, since I was little I have wanted to learn, I think you must feel very excluded not being able to have a fluent conversation with others. Also, I would love to learn more about the Mapuche people (like their language, customs or ways of living), this because my family is a descendant of this nation and I would like to know their positions to work with them as a professional.

I would like to have sign language courses, since I was a child I have wanted to learn, I think that deaf-mute people must feel very excluded not being able to have a fluent conversation with others. Also, I would love to learn more about the Mapuche people (like their language, customs or ways of living), this because my family is a descendant of this nation and I would like to know their positions to work with them as a professional.

I would also like to learn more about psychology and law, I think they would be of great help for my career and my professional future.

I think one of the things I would most like to learn (and I think I could not do it) is singing and acting, it is one of the things I like since I am very small, I would have those courses just for fun and to fulfill one of my frustrated dreams, since I would not practice as such.

I would study most of the courses in Chile, but if there is an opportunity to learn abroad it would be great. I think the mode of study that I would most like is face-to-face, but if there are online theoretical courses I would not hesitate to take them. It would be great to be able to take courses that last only the morning and without the need to work, so I can focus 100% on it.

 Goodbye, have a good week....

My future job

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing very well...

I would love to have a job that contributes to society and makes big changes in the country. I imagine it as a constant interaction with people of all ages.  I would like there to be a union as my work team and we can come up with new ideas together.

I would like to work in an office for the organization or planning of projects, I like to have my place tidy and comfortable for a better work development.

I consider that working outside when doing interventions is very important, since visiting places can give you more knowledge and talking to other people gives you new perspectives.

As much as I love travel, I would like to have a job where travel is a rare thing. I hope to work more in the region where I work.

I don't consider the salary to be the most important thing, I just hope that I can be independent and that it is enough for my basic needs. It is not in my future plans to have children, so I would not have those expenses and it would not be necessary to be thinking about money constantly for them to have a better life.  But, I do want to have pets!

I am currently in my second year of social work, and I have never really thought about what major I would like to choose. However, I would love to work in areas that have to do with children or the elderly. I think these are age groups that need support and are very neglected by the system, people and the State.

I would like to add that I would love to work with people who are friendly and dedicated, who are motivated by social change and want to accomplish the goals we will set as a team.
